Navy SEAL Team #6 – A Brief History

Navy SEAL Team #6 no longer goes by that name. In 1987 Navy SEAL Team #6 was restructured and now goes by the name of: The United States Naval Warfare Development Group or NSWDG. The new mission and purpose of the Naval Warfare Development Group is generally kept very secretive.

However, it is know that this group deals with Counter-Terrorism and acts as a SMU or Special Mission Unit. Neither the White House nor the Department Of Defense will openly comment on the actions or inner workings of the United States Naval Warfare Development Group.

This has ultimately resulted in much criticism from many Americans who believe that they have a right to know what this group is doing and how they are doing it. However, more and more people believe that this group has not only a constitutional right to keep their dealings private but needs to do so in order to properly protect United States citizens from terrorist acts.

Though not much is known about this group it is believed that they were leaders immediately following the terrorists attacks that occurred on American soil when the Twin Towers in New York were struck on 9/11.  Though little information has been revealed, it has been noted that the United States Naval Warfare Development Group immediately went into action to disband and apprehend numerous high ranking officials in terrorist cells during and following this time.

Though not much is known about the former “SEAL Team #6” they are one of the most respected groups in the US Military.
